Dirty dog...

Last Saturday was an exciting day for all. It was Sydney's (Ollie's aunt Sydney) birthday, and aunt Megan's trampoline party. Annnd it was Mud Hero. Mud Hero is a rope-swinging, mud-crawling, ramp-running, wall-climbing, tunnel-diving, slide-slipping, net-crossing, tire-tripping, un-freakin’-believable obstacle run of its kind that’s 100% Canadian-owned.
All muddy after playing in the park.
Ollie, being a dog and all, likes to get dirty. Though he hates being wet, mud is not an issue. See below, after a romp in the park with a husky puppy friend.

So Ollie came along for the Mud Hero fun, accompanies by aunt Tami. Ollie has a lot of aunts! Megan is my sister, but all the rest of them are like sisters! Ollie really got into the mud hero theme. As you might remember, his FAVOURITE activity is digging. And digging in the mud is the best digging out there!

My own little mud hero

Ollie was quite the muddy mess before we even started the race.

Muddy mess
Then he waited patiently while Syd and I ran the race. Okaaaay...Syd ran. I walked most of the way, with intermittent attempts to run. My ragweed allergies are really bad right now, and it was hot. Don't judge. Tami captured several pics and videos of us running, and some of the patient pup.

Ollie celebrated with Sydney when she finished the race, and got quite a bit more muddy. And then he really got into it when I finished. There was mud everywhere. He looks unimpressed in this pic, but I think he was just grumpy about being left behind during the race. He often greets me enthusiastically, and then gets a bit pissy at me for leaving in the first place. We really need to work on the separation anxiety.

After we spent about a half hour de-mudding, we went to my parent's house for Megan's trampoline party. The tramp has been around for many years, so we set it up one last time, and gave it a good bounce, before sending it on its way. Ollie eve tried the tramp with Megan and her friend Mike.

Then Tami and Sydney hung out with Ollie while he slept. It was a long day and there is only so much excitement that one pup can take! Thanks everyone for the amazing day!
